This cottage is typically Dutch
The havoc wrought by the storms of the past also brought us benefits. The salty water made the land in this area fertile and extremely suitable for agriculture. This part of North Holland is known as the “Garden of the Netherlands” and the local delicacy, the Opperdoes potato is a prime example of why this is so. The atmosphere in this cottage is traditional Dutch. You can sleep in a traditional box bed and the walls are decorated with old sayings.
Green grass, blue skies and colourful farmhouse crockery evoke the cosiness of life on the farm. In the cupboard, you’ll find well-known board games. The area is sown with wildflowers and there’s a greenhouse in your garden, from which you can pick delicious fresh herbs.
