Qurios Loves Recycling
"For us, the beauty of life is in the little things. Things that you normally think about because you are preoccupied with all the worries of everyday life. "
Why do we do what we do? You can ask us that any time you like. At Qurios, it’s a question we ask ourselves constantly.
We work with our partners based on mutual commitment. That helps us to find the key to a sustainable future together. A world in which we are kind to nature, share fairly and try to create equal opportunities for everyone.
Curios people make the world a better place.
In a world that is becoming increasingly digital, it’s sometimes just nice to hold some paper in your hands. Like this magazine, for example. But paper doesn’t just happen. Behind every sheet of paper, there is an industry that pollutes, clears forests and does not fit well with how we want to treat our planet.
That’s why we were curious to see if it could be done better, For example, through our partners at SpringerUit Printers, we came into contact with the papermaker Lessebo. Lessebo is a family business that has been making paper in the Swedish forests for 300 years. They’re not located just around the corner, but they are the most climate-friendly papermaker in the world. And that’s why we are a good match.
Cradle to Cradle
Lessebo does not produce waste. It uses energy from 100% renewable sources and only discharges water that has been completely filtered and is, therefore, completely clean.
In this way, Lessebo reduces CO2 emissions by 97.3% As a result, they are the only paper producer in the world to have earned the Cradle to Cradle Gold Certificate, which is proof of sustainability and circular production.
Cradle to Cradle is about renewing sources. It means ensuring that paper production isn’t only less bad for the environment it’s actually good for it. Lessebo does this, for example, by ensuring that it plants more trees than it fells for paper production. We call that eco-effective, and it’s a good thing.
